Interesting synchronicity–I just read the new Caleb Carr memoir about his cat and mentioned The Alienist, which is always displayed prominently on the “Kenyon authors” shelves at the college bookstore.
I just re-read The Alienist and its sequel Angel of Darkness last year, and I am currently reading Carr’s Surrender, New York, which is so far less successful than the first two but still enjoyable.
